Today we all know how this all worked out. What this shows is that they used a perfectly useful app without ensuring that it scaled properly. Quite possibly, they could not. This was the test.
This actually happens often enough in software development.
After all, testing for scalability is the same as rolling it all out in terms of costs. Thus you opt to do a dynamic launch and hope to fix things on the fly. Unfortunately this looks to be a bad as it gets. It will work fine is 2024 of course.
A direct result is that the Iowa Caucus will generate zero traction for any candidate which does serve any number of folks and will be quickly forgotten. So we are all off to New Hampshire which should provide a visible launch for someone.
Of course the producers of this fiasco happen to be Doubtful Contractors and apparent Clintonistas. Having fun already?.
Precinct leaders across Iowa will use their own smartphones to transmit the results of next month's Iowa caucuses.
