What no one understands is that all the economic drivers of the city have been neutralized by technology. This has never been understood, but it has always been about big power plants, communication systems and transport been able to distribute close to the population.
Now power is getting cheaper, all comms are cheap and food is local with cheaper transport. The city is still a bargain if you live there and do not use a car.
THe point is that with a car now becoming cheaper, it makes depending on a city far less necesasary.
All that means that the 'CITY' is no longer the be all and end all. With COV 19 we have all learned that we can work from home. This now accelerates the whole process of future DE - URBANIZATION.
I never expected this.
