Good item. i had not thought much about mindfulness per se. Yet we most of us operate on auto pilot, or at least i surely do. My mind is always engaged in thought much to the exlusion of my surround and i do not step out of that too willingly.
Meditation demands concentration and practice. It is an active process that actually improves over time. do not quit.
I also respect contemplative meditation as well which is what the active mind is often doing. that also can become organized and disciplined as well..
