There are hints of this been true but understanding the centrality of moral knowledge makes it a plausible conjecture. It is no mistake that some of the monsters of history suffered putative damage to their brains. These have been often noted in passing without been linked but not we need to rethink all that.
As well, there is no end of anecdotes in which survivors of trauma sufficient to induce micro tears in the brain end up with a significant personality change at least causing problems for their families. It does not even need to be debilitating. Temper control and depression are both troublesome and unwelcome issues.
In effect we are born with a prewired decision matrix that guides our rational responses to the external world. It is really instinctual. Our natural instinct is to do the right thing.
It suggest that we all take that home with us and meditate upon it.

If we had no scruples, we’d have precious little need for identities
