The take home is that this collapse of the southern sea ice will slow the heat exchange system for the gulf stream and plausibly explains the thousand year cycle seen in the long term records. A slow dwn of the gulf stream will bring back Arctic cold. Again all this is decadal but history has also been decadal.
Way too many folks still believe this is all driven by human co2 production which has always been nonsense. After much analysis, i came to the conclusion that the only force able to shift and also adjust the global climate was the circum poar current whose volume and scale is shown to be variable at least. The mechanism was unclear.
now we have a mechanism large ebough to matter. We continue to map past decadal warming spells.
