slowly but surely the academic world is accepting the Comet impact event of 12800 BP which i call the Pleistocene Nonconformity.  I started talking about all this over twenty years ago.

what is new here is that the original wildfire explanation is as impossible as I have always thought.  however what is very plausible is that the global surface vegetation was hit with a wave of heat able to flash carbonize it.  this is important because it tells us that the comet broke up and fragmenrts exploded in the athmosphere to produce the heat wave over the whole hemisphere.  it does not have to be continous.

In the past twenty years, i have identified or seen  obvious impact craters, many of which have even been identified.  Through all those cays in wetlands.  those are the remans of ice been thrown out of the ice cap.

tunguska was a demonstration of the potential and was likely even a remnant.
