Today marks the two-year anniversary of the day President Trump came within inches of being assassinated in Butler, Pennsylvania. And all this time later, the official story looks even worse, thanks to a new report that was just released.

A new inspector general report says the Secret Service missed more than 100 radio transmissions from local law enforcement about the suspicious man who would later be identified as Thomas Crooks.

One hundred. Pure insanity.

The report says that local authorities were warning about a man with a range finder, then a long gun, then a position on a rooftop with a direct line of sight to Trump. How on earth does the esteemed Secret Service miss all that?

Honestly, that’s the part Americans still can’t get past, and you can’t blame them, can you? They’ve got one job to do.

This report sadly reveals one of two unthinkable scenarios… that the Secret Service either had some of the most incompetent, unprepared, under-equipped boobs imaginable protecting Trump that day, or something far more sinister was happening behind the scenes. Sure, a lot of people don’t want to jump straight into the deep end of the conspiracy pool, but they also don’t want to be treated like idiots when the facts keep getting more absurd.

And finding the truth is important, because while President Trump survived, by some divine intervention, a firefighter named Corey Comperatore didn’t. He was killed while protecting his family.

Now, two years later, we’re learning just how accidentally (or purposely) jumbled that day really was.

Two years after the attempted assassination of then-candidate Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, a new inspector general report is shedding light on the security failures leading up to the attack.

The report says the Secret Service missed more than 100 radio transmissions from local law enforcement about the suspected gunman and received only a handful of calls and texts warning of the threat in the lead up.

Firefighter Corey Comperatore lost his life protecting his family, and two others were wounded. Investigators conclude those communication failures and other security lapses represented missed opportunities that may have prevented the attack.

More than 100 missed transmissions about a “suspicious person” at a Trump rally, and somehow this threat still made it onto a rooftop with a long gun, and we’re supposed to believe that was just some coinky dink? Many people think that the official version is the actual “conspiracy.”

We got even more details on what the Secret Service missed.

According to a release from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General on June 30, 2026, the Secret Service failed to carry out and arrange several security measures during Trump’s then-campaign rally for president on July 13, 2024, at the Butler Fairgrounds, which is located around 44 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Sister station WTAE in Pittsburgh reports that the 64-page report outlined the Secret Service’s shortcomings, saying members failed to receive 102 radio transmissions from local authorities concerning an “increasingly intense search for a suspicious person.”

According to the report from OIG, the Secret Service only received five phone calls and three text messages about the shooter, who was later identified as Thomas Crooks.

The calls included reports that Crooks had a range finder and a long gun and had taken a position on top of the American Glass Research International complex’s roof.

How many more glaring red flags did the Secret Service need? So, how does the mainstream media explain how something this catastrophic could actually happen? Well, two reporters on NPR gave it their best shot.

RASCOE: Well, then how have they figured out why they weren’t able to protect against this long-form shot from, you know, above, when that’s something they have focused on so much?

LEONNIG: This happened because they had been stretched far too thin. They had a candidate who was Donald Trump, at the time, not a president. They prioritized the president, the vice president, and indeed, on that weekend, even the first lady. And the candidate, Donald Trump, a person who has a pretty high threat risk, did not get that same level of protection.

The other thing the Secret Service was pretty embarrassed to admit but we were able to report at the time was that they sent really inexperienced people to Butler to prepare. The woman who was in charge of mapping out the basic draft for security that day had really never planned for an event like this before.

RASCOE: Well, there have been other incidents since Butler – the White House Correspondent’s Dinner shooting in April, the alleged plot to attack officials at the White House UFC fight. That was thwarted by law enforcement. How has Secret Service changed its operations?

LEONNIG: Well, there is one significant way the Secret Service has begun to adapt to the really skyrocketing number of threats against Donald Trump’s life. They’ve created a special unit to try to identify every single person online who is talking about threatening language involving the president. This unit is getting much larger and is trying to find threats that are even just far more vague.

So Trump was one of the most threatened political figures in the country, but he didn’t get the level of protection his risk demanded because he was “only” a candidate at the time. Again, absolute absurdity. At the time of that campaign rally, Trump was still a former US president and one of the most high-profile political figures in the world.

And here comes the cherry on top of this ridiculous sundae…

The NPR segment shifted into one of the more insulting parts of this entire discussion.

After laying out the failures that nearly got Trump killed, they still found a way to blame him. That’s the strange part. Trump wasn’t even president when the Butler shooting happened. He was a former president and a presidential candidate under Secret Service protection, yet somehow the argument became that the agency was failing because it now operates under a president who supposedly doesn’t value investing in government.

But, you know, one of the biggest problems for the Secret Service is they are under, you know, the direction of a president who does not value investing in government and investing in government agencies.

The Secret Service missed more than 100 transmissions, a gunman got onto a rooftop, a firefighter was killed, Trump was shot, and this is the what the mainstream media comes up with?

Americans are still waiting for real answers about how it happened and why we still know so little about the man who nearly assassinated the president.

Americans know more about random social media ding-a-lings than they know about the young man who climbed onto a roof and nearly killed President Trump.

But as ugly as everything was, including the secrecy and security failures, Butler is also remembered for something else: the moment Trump stood back up and fought.

The White House marked the somber two-year anniversary by returning to the image that defined that day and the man who is our president.

Two years ago today, in Butler, PA, an assassin opened fire on President Donald J. Trump.

By the grace of God, his life was spared. As he rose to his feet – blood on his face, fist raised high – that moment became an enduring symbol of resilience, courage, & unbreakable determination for an entire nation.

The entire world watched a massive failure of presidential security and a historic act of personal courage unfold at the exact same time. One part raises horrific questions about incompetence, neglect, accountability, and what the Secret Service supposedly “missed” and whether something even darker was at play. The other side explains why so many Americans watched Trump rise from that stage and believed they were seeing a man who had been spared for a reason.

But the bottom line is that the new report doesn’t answer those questions. It just makes them more disturbing and impossible to ignore.
