Understand that battery tech is able to make the whole grid actualy efficient.  It was massively overbuilt because it was inherently wastefull and transmission distance sensitive.

We still need more powerplants ,but massive battety offtakes create a true power reserve system that ensure all power produced is optimized through battery storage.

Tesla is able shape the Grid on Earth. Tesla signed a deal with Sunrun to get control of 16 Gigawatts of solar power and 4+ gigawatts of residential battery storage.
