The Arrogance of the Prom King
I am not sure just what Paul Ryan was thinking but what he needed to do was to bow gracefully to the will of the voters and if that left him with an untenable position to follow it with his resignation. Posturing after the fact begs logic of any kind.
Now he has damaged his standing while Chris Christie has put himself in line for a possible Vice presidency which he will execute well with or without the abject cooperation of Paul Ryan.
No one has ever seen a political rout like we have just experienced so perhaps we can forgive so many of the lately entitled their knashing of teeth. After all how would you like to fund a seventeen horse race, place all your bets among all your other associates and then watch them all lose with the bookies keeping all the money and you are all sitting back in the club house without the consolation of congratulating the winner.
Paul and a few others still cannot get it or accept it. Gratefully it is truly over and they no longer dare cheat either.
