Gold Bars Must Be Tested For A Real Audit to Mean Anything - Tungsten Counterfeit

I posted the first article back in 2012 on fredom phoenix and there has been a steady trickle of follow up.  Turns out to be so effective that it is easy enough to salt new bars and it is not detectable without a remelt.

My takehome is that all forms of mechanical marking can be circumvented.  After all, you make a cast of an original bar, melt it and then pour a thin layert of molten gold before you add a tungsten bar.  Then add more gold to return to the shape of the original casting.  you likely could produce around ten unique castings with the same serial number.

We need to add a seperable metal that dissolves into the gold that does not dissolve into tungsten. Then weight change seeable.  Still difficult not may be possible.

since I wrote that article, counterfeiting has obviously proliferated.  today, you must do a melt for confirmation.  It may be easier to store as a compound which will be bulky but cheaply reconstituted and tested.

(Publisher's Note: We started FreedomsPhoenix in September of 2005 and have archived 20 years of News - Articles - Columns and Radio Shows and Podcasts {about a half a million entries} and from the beginning we knew we would have to include Metadata that would Identify the entries for future reference WHEN they were eliminated from the Internet. Now you know why we have the Mid-Pages that include the original links, what publication/author, summary of content, graphics and reader comments.

These features were important For Just This Reason... Censorship! The Tungsten/Gold issue is one of those issues that are being scrubbed.
