This video is an excellent review of ongoing progress in Niger and by extension the whole Sahel. today over five million hectares have been put back into improving production.
this is not the whole solution for the whole Sahara, but it provides a living human barrier on the southern boundary of the desert.
it is also wonderfully proactive and folks can get land and nicely improve it while setting up hte next farm over..
Now we need to add Groasis into this mix in order to introduce those indiginous trees back where they have been lost.
