Yah the heat bulge is now over and what remains is to see if we fall back a half degree furing the next two decades. That is my expectation and that is based of weak associations with past remarked cycles going back to hte Middle ages.
The Northwest Passage was open for a decade or so but should now slam shut until the next time. sorry folks.
Of course we could get another El Nino able to again roll it back as we got around 1996. Or Not.
It is completely odd that my predictive powers regarding the Northern climate has been rather eccellent when i see no good reason for it to be.

According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, earth has warmed 1.21C since the 1970s.
Satellites show very little warming during that period.
Earth is a terrifying 0.1C above the 1979-2000 average.
Sea ice extent at both poles is just below average since the 1970s.
