$50,000 Tesla Cybertruck Using 4680 Iron LFP Batteries in 2026



Just like that we do iron based batteries.  Understand that most trucks are bought for commercial applications and that typically means set routes and a known usage profile.  You literally know what range you need and can tailor your buy.

Thus is what the commercial battery space is evolving to.  Lithium is not going away because it has a massive lead and a maximum theoretical power density ,but just when does that actually matter?  And Tesla just showed us they can switch battery types at the drtop ofv a hat.  Just like tyres.

We are certainly entering the AGE of the battery.  And do understand that this massive evolving battery inventory will flatten out grid utilization and even displce grid demand as it is naturally cheaper to recharge close by the power plant.  It is why i want atmosphere pressure stacks in cities.  This optimizes local transmission efficiencies.

Currently, the two motor Tesla Cybertruck costs $79,990 and has a range of 325 miles. Tesla is developing its own iron LFP 4680 battery. Iron LFP batteries are about 20-30% lower cost than nickel batteries, but are less energy dense.



Lower cost LFP4680 would be about $70-80 per kWh instead of $100 per kWh for nickel 4680.
A similar range Cybertruck using LFP 4680 would not save much money. It would be ~$460 savings for the same range (148 kWh = $11,840).


A 250 mile range version would save $5,100 (90 kWh = $7,200).



The current Battery Pack Cost about $12,000 to $15,000 (123 kWh at $100/kWh).

A single motor RWD Cybertruck using LFP batteries could reach a price of $50,000. This would require saving costs on all the other components. The higher 80,000 per year volume would also spread any fixed costs over more units. This combined with the continued sale of higher end units would mean 100,000 to 125,000 per year in Cybertruck sales in 2026. This is the stated capacity of the Cybertruck factory line.
