Trump Leads GOP Presidential Pack

First this is all early days.  Second, i do think that he is serious about this. And third he brings a wall of pure competence wrung from a lifetime of hard business dealing.  He is a prick I want little to do with but at least he is our prick.

Worse for all the other 'candidates' is that the voters know this after putting up with him for the past forty years.  I suspect that he will be a slam dunk to enter the white house.  I am also certain that he will outrage someone every day.  This election has now become interesting and entertaining as well.

Tell me who would you like to have negotiating with Putin, or the Iranians, or the Chinese for that matter.  They have all been able to control agendas and get some of what they wanted.  At the same time it appears that the multinationals have blithely hijacked TPP to secretly negotiate their interests.  How can this be?

You know that Trump will not stand for any of this.  I thin that the American people will simply decide that they need him after eight years with a true believer socialist college professor with no tenure prospects and no business prospects either.

According to an Economist/YouGov poll, GOP candidate Donald Trump currently claims 15% of the Republican vote across the U.S., therefore putting him ahead of Jeb Bush (11%). Writing for YouGov, Kathy Frankovic said "Trump looks even better as a candidate this week when Republicans are asked for their second choice..When they are, Trump extends his lead. One in four Republicans who are registered to vote say he is their first or second choice." The poll was released on July 9.
On July 8, a poll by the Public Policy Polling survey of North Carolina confirmed that Trump is the leader of the GOP contenders. The poll found that Trump was at 16%, while Bush trailed at 12%. PPP Director Tom Jensen said of the results, "Trump's favorability rating in North Carolina is 55/32, much higher than we were finding in national polls prior to his entry into the race." Moreover, said Jensen, "Trump's really caught fire with voters on the far right — 66% of 'very conservative' voters see him favorably to only 24% with a negative view of him."
Some observers contend that Trump's leading position in the poll may be due to his high name recognition alone. According to Business Insider, support for the real estate mogul may stem from his luxury brands and reality TV show. University of Michigan poll watcher Michael Traugott said of the results, "Trump has greater name recognition than many of the others, especially the governors...But name recognition is not the same as support."
There are currently some 20 officially declared and wannabe GOP presidential contenders.
