these craft can be reengineered using modern methods to produce an excellent multi level passenger experience.

propulsion can be provided by the  automatic sail systems and also powered by battery storage along with deisel motors as well.

Crossing the ocean under sail is the experience been sold and the traditional routes are well known.

Of course we cannot use traditional materials but we have excellent alterrnatives providing long operatring lives for the ships.  And a sealed battery system in the ballast area as counter weight.  An aluminium shell comes to mind as the outer layer of a stress skin panel system.

I do think tgat the tourist market can readily support a thousand such ships with perhaps 200 folks asea per ship and 200,000 asea if we have a fleet of 1000.  Two week experiences means that several million individual trips every year.

Understand that 1.7million make it to alaska every year.  The Galleon concept has dozens of routes globally.  So a thousand galleons is hardly unreasonable.

The weight and capacity compare directly with rhine River passenger barges.  also 200 passengers.

Of course sailing about the Caribbean and the med keeps one out of heavy sweas but we know that.
