Canada's Global anaconda Trade Strategy

No one has ever understood that Canada sits astride the best geography to establish Global Hegemony over trade itself.  Everything today travels by container.  This means rotating from ship to rail to truck is now seamless and just as efficient as ppossible.

The rest is bulk haulage and that that is controlled by source and processing.

The real point of this is that a container ship sails from asia and sails north to prince rupert, or two days later, the Salish sea, or two days later to long beach.  Offloading in prince rupert, puts you on Rail for a straight run to Chicago.  I kid you not, it is flat and downhill mostly with the high point in Hinton at a thousand feet or so,  That route is already fast and furious.  this takes four to five days at best.

all this means is that a container is in chicago before its ship can reach long beach.  Two more days reaches Montreal, now becoming a major container port.  This competes on time with New York.

All this means that every country on Earth has ample reason to establish bilateral trade arrangements with Canada, while also passing through Canadas massive industrial coridor.  And with all this tariff nonsense .tariff free packaging is obvious in Canada .

My point is that this trade advantage is now expressing itself and will see gravity ppulking thousands of USA manufacturies with thier employees north of the border.  look just how easy this will be.  You are based in Ohio.  You up tools and shift North and Ontario or Quebec pays for most of the move.  Your employees and their families follow again with a move bonus.  You are hard put to do this anywhere else..

Setriously, though, a gentlemens agreement kept this from truly happening a lot sooner and was suppressed by the small size of the Canadian market.  Suddenly free trade agrements opens Canada tariff free to both the EU and Asia.  Thus a anufacturer making things in Ontario can ship to the EU and all ASia and off course the USA.

This is a real chalenge for all USA manufacturing.  Some not so much, but a lot is real and now.  Aluminium manafacture must either end this trade war, or up sticks for Canada.  Expanding your global reach is a bonus.  

Understand global market access no longer makes the Ontrario plant a branch plant and we have literally seen this with Campbell soup.s return to Leemington ontario to supply the entire North East.  now they can ship globally as well
