DIY Greenhouse

I want to say that i have been looking at greenhouses my entire life and i have never liked any that i have looked at.  They are always way too expensive as only glass and metal can be or too frail or even too flimsy as in plastic.  Add in the little detail that assembly and repair truly needs to be farm boy friendly.  In short, i am a professional critic of such items.

This a system actually makes me happy.  It will also be possible to integrate this directly onto a sundeck as well in specific location in snow country.  I would do this upon rebuilding the sun deck and integrate the back door to create an airlock in the winter and a heat dump able to keep it warm in winter.  As most kitchens are off such a back door, this can work wonderfully.  The rest of the expanded sundeck can be alongside ro accommodate barbecues and the like.
.
Otherwise you are working with the outhouse effect in the winter time.

This is a lot of greenhouse that readily supports an active gardening operation and capacity is easily expanded through hot beds as the season progresses.

I would also consider adding a couple of feet at least to the wall height.  This lifts the roof and allows you to winter over a nicely pruned back fig tree or even a banana tree or an orange tree.  At least it would give you a reason to throw heat into it then.

In short, it has everything that i would want without going crazy with the budget and certainly inside the budget range of a patio or sundeck build.  love it....

DIY Greenhouse plans - build your own DIY greenhouse, free step by step plans by ANA-WHITE.com

Building your own greenhouse is something you can tackle and save a ton.  We built this greenhouse about six years ago, and it still looks brand new and is as sturdy as ever.  We are happy to share our plans with you - see below.
Here's some photos of the build -

Near completion of the framing stage. We used 12' long pieces of corrugated metal roofing for the side walls.

We ran the corrugated roofing horizontal.  This was very easy to install and we have had zero issues with this design.

We also trimmed the corners out with metal flashing to make everything look nice and finished.

The greenhouse plastic wrapped right over the corrugated metal - like it was meant to be!

The only part that was slightly tricky was the ends - but really no big deal to add the greenhouse plastic panels.

Our DIY greenhouse turned out great and we are so excited to share the plans with you.

Please post a pic or share if you build!

Greenhouses are the future! People can finally live away from the urban life now that the future is online. No longer need schools, offices and banks, everything is online! That means we can learn to farm again! Thanks for the nice article on Greenhouses!
