Again what is now happening is the predictable evolutoin of drone warfare. All the heavies however protected become targets. This is really bad news and means just about anything needs the equivalent of those cope cages or bettert yet very light robotic autoguns able to see and shred incoming at very short range.
Of course any identified tank will also have a heavy artilary shell coming in as well.
The big change out is in the industrialization of WAR. Instead of just mobilization 4,000,000 young men in Canadas case, we can also mobilize an additional several million women and militarily unfit to operate a deep drone cover of literally tens of milions. And do not forget, AI allows one operator to fly a hundred craft.
Thus an industralized war effort means a tight covered front line to preserve manpower and an ongoning available cover of hot drones makig assaults difficult .
