Learning disfunction is a thing that may affect even the brightest lamp. It is thus really helpful to be able to identify the signals in order to address the issues.

This was put out by the Eaton Arrowsmith school who deals with these truly obscure problems..

This was developed addressing the obviously handicapped and they have had real success progressively resolving the issues.  It typically takes application and time as one must expect, but even partial success is a blessing.

I do think these methods also have additional applications.

7 “Careless Errors” That May Reveal a Learning Difficulty

The first (and arguably the most nebulous) step in dealing with a learning difficulty is to recognize that a learning difficulty does indeed exist. 

Many factors can cloud this recognition, especially when it comes to Motor Symbol Sequencing (the process involved in things like writing out the alphabet or a sequence of numbers). Parents may not initially be on the lookout for a learning difficulty, and both children and adults may feel inclined to mask their struggles out of frustration or embarrassment - which means that many key signs of this type of learning difficulty end up attributed to mere carelessness.

But these 7 “careless errors” may actually reveal a learning difficulty:

Words are misread due to poorly developed patterns of eye fixations

Handwriting is messy and irregular. People with this dysfunction frequently print rather than handwrite

Writing is slow due to the need for increased concentration

Copying material from one location to another is slow and often inaccurate

Spelling is incorrect and/or inconsistent

Speech tends to ramble, leave out chunks of information, reorder details, and go back and forth over several subjects

Motor slips cause the person to think one number in his head, yet write a different number on the page
