India's Water Revolution #2: The Biggest Permaculture Project on Earth! with the Paani Foundation


Here we finally see just what a natural community can create with permaculture or restoration agriculture.  It takes attention but also scant investment in terms of a village.  Out of it every family becomes much better of.

We have been seeing all this as an individual effort.  Yet it always demanded a community effort.  In this case they already had a viable giant resovoir that merely needed to be heightened in order to feed several smaller resovoirs that then replenished the ground water thus providing year round water security.


Quite a bit of good luck in the end.  The real point which you can see here is the manufacture of permanet swales to trap monsoon waters.  That soon leads to the growth of ample trees as well..

Permaculture instructor Andrew Millison journeys to India to film the epic work of the Paani Foundation’s Water Cup Competition. We tour the village of Velu, in Maharashtra, who won the 2016 competition to install the most amount of water harvesting structures in a 45 day period.
