The Desperate, Desperate Left

Yes, the left is truly desperate and everything that they have tried since Trump's victory has proven counter productive.

The population and the world has now moved on and have learned to actually trust his judgement.  He has allayed their fears.  He has made real progress on intractable problems.  Solutions may even be possible.

It is highly likely that the polls will be clean this November and that he will sweep a throng of supporters into office.  Claims to the contrary are nonsense.

The Democratic party needs to now be completely rebuilt.  The repudiation is far too great and the errors of the past administration are an ongoing albatross.  Repairing Obamacare will ensure that it remains fresh for the next two years.

Pundits on TV keep exclaiming that they’ve never seen anything like the Left’s reaction to the presidency of Donald J. Trump. Democrats have exposed themselves, and been exposed, as the violent, destructive, mindless, power-hungry, criminals that me have always said they really are.

Watching them scream at the heavens on street corners or use bicycle racks to smash windows to stop speech—and speakers—that they hate has been like a visit to the zoo to look at the hyenas and baboons.

From the very beginning of the Trump campaign they have been out to run his caravan off the road at any cost, deliberately misunderstanding everything he says, nitpicking each and every little detail they can find and blowing it up into grounds for impeachment. They have sicced obscene and dangerous lunatics like Maxine Waters, Michael Moore, Jim Carrey, Rob Reiner, Rosie O’Donnel. Joy Behar, and Robert De Niro on him. They ignore all the good—record black employment just to name a single example—he accomplishes every day.

When each of these ass-clowns and the ludicrous accusations they make run out of gas, they immediately switch to another, castigating him for being rich, for being married to the most beautiful First Lady America has ever had, for exercising his rightful presidential power to hire and fire, for having a gorgeous and productive daughter who is married to “Sssss! One of them!”, for having two sons who are accomplished big game hunters. Without any idea what it means, they say he’s a Nazi. They accuse him of being a Russian spy and collaborator and, at the same time, of trying to foment an atomic war with Russia.

Now, although it never stopped, it has begun all over again, at an even higher more hysterical pitch, since the Donald nominated to the Supreme Court a fellow whose most unbearable offense is that he says he’s dedicated to following the law as written in the Constitution—which he has already taken an oath to do, instead of making it up as he goes along, as many other judges before him (who took exactly the same oath) have done.

And this week, having flopped time and again, they’ve brought out what they consider to be their “Big Gun”, the failed, pathetic ex-president Barack Hussein Obama, to inform Trump “You didn’t make that—I did!” about the astonishing economic recovery that Barry—sticky-fingered collectivist that he is—was never able to pull off. I lived through those times; they weren’t so long ago. I remember them all too well. I saw stores close, favorite restaurants shut their doors, whole malls collapse, and business ventures fail. Obama and his evil minions are trying to create a myth; it’s up to us to see that they don’t succeed.

There’s a reason for the Left’s blind anger and utter despair, although not all of them may realize it consciously. For 140 years, from about 1876 to Trump’s inauguration in 2016, their “inward eye”, their most cherished hopes and aspirations, were fixed on a Socialist Utopia, some pastel image closely akin to the world of Edward Bellamy’s Looking Backward, where everything is free, children are raised by faceless servitors in government nurseries, and anything you ever desired is delivered to your apartment by pneumatic tubes.

More important, as economist Ludwig von Mises tried to advise us, every two-for-a-nickel parlor pink who shares that vision imagines himself at the top of the iron pyramid, with the raw power to prevent, say, a deplorable like Alex Jones, from receiving anything through his pneumatic tube.

The political expression of these opium dreams began with the early “progressives”, and informed the campaigns and administrations of “soft communists” like William Jennings Bryan, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Harry Truman.

With the election of Lyndon Baines Johnson (and the ignominious defeat of Barry Goldwater) the Left believed they’d finished off any meaningful opposition to their ambitions. Kennedy’s plan to end the War in Vietnam and return the country to the gold standard was dealt with quickly and brutally.

Ronald Reagan was just a bump in the road, corrected by the election of CIA kingpin, George H.W. Bush. The unexpected collapse of the Soviet Empire simply meant that the American left were finally free to set their own course.

Not all 20th century Presidents have been dedicated Marxists, Some were simply stupid. I thought George W. Bush was the worst we’d ever had until Obama came along.

Now Trump has derailed that particular train, smashing socialist fantasies of a Utopia of Coercion.

They detest him and have tried, again and again, to get him out of their way, to discredit and impeach him, not for any “high crimes and misdemeanors”, not even for his policies, which are their ruination, but for his straightforward no-nonsense style, which is so very different from that of the scum and bottom-of-the-barrel scrapings they have idolized.

It’s important, in this context, to remember that leftists always accuse their enemies of what they are, themselves, racists, fascists, kleptocrats, misogynists, everything they think and feel and do. Whether this is simply Saul Alinski strategy or sick psychiatric projection, I haven’t quite figured out yet.

There are plenty of Republicans in my state whom I absolutely abhor (no, I am not changing the subject). For the most part, they are weak and cowardly and stupid specimens. What’s more I am not a Republican or even a conservative, I am a libertarian, even though most people apparently have no idea what that means—especially those who own and operate the Libertarian Party.

Donald J. Trump is not a libertarian. Nor is he properly a Republican or even a conservative. He is a one-off, absolutely unique. That being so, he has done more to advance the cause of individual liberty than the vaunted Libertarian Party has ever dreamed of, and for that reason, I will hold my nose and vote for Republicans to support Trump in the House and Senate. I urge you to do the same.

He’s not perfect, but it’s great fun to watch him work.
