I was really surprised at what this technology accomplishes. Much is unexpected. You can set up in the middle of the desert itself. and succeed.
What happens is that you initially pour a bucket of water into the prepared hole itself. this sets up a water column the reaches deep. It is covered with a patch of paper to slow evaporation. then the bucket device is set up and the two seedlings also planted.
The plant is thus fully protected for at least three years around its roots and during initial growth.
The bucket is charged with waster and left. Condensation continuously recharges the tank and some water is wicked out into the soil to support the seedlings.
They have had a ninety percent success in pure desert even.
What really matters though is that the root system can run deep to locate deep water. This is huge because suddenly i can envisage covering the entire Sahara with single trees set on a mile by mile grid. Where they survive will be obvious plantation lands for future development. Where they do not you simply postpone.
Also crossing the desert you will see scattered trees as far as the eye can see.
I wish i had heard of this a long time ago but all the necessary field testing is well completed.

Not an irrigation method, but a planting technology
The Groasis Ecological Water Saving
Technology is an integrated planting technology to plant in dry, eroded,
desert and rocky areas. It is not
a way of irrigation. During the first year while planting with the
Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology, water savings are more than
90% when compared to any other planting method. From the second year
onwards, no water is added and irrigation is not needed. The water savings are from then 100%.
The Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology is a biomimicry technology and consists of:
- Improving the soil with compost and mycorrhizae;

How can a tree survive on its own during the most extreme weather conditions?
While using the Groasis Ecological Water
Saving Technology, the primary roots of a tree grow average half to one
centimeter per day into the deep soil. After one year, the roots are
two to four meters deep. The plant has found water in the ground and is
now independent and strong enough to grow on its own. The Waterboxx® plant cocoon can be removed and used again, the Growboxx® plant cocoon can be left behind and nature will do the rest.
Plant trees anytime and everywhere
Trees can be planted with the Waterboxx®
and Growboxx® plant cocoon. The difference between both products is
that the Waterboxx® is re-usable for at least 10 years. Due the high
quality of the Waterboxx®, you can plant trees everywhere at low cost. You can plant 2 trees, shrubs or vegetables in the Waterboxx®. After 9 to 12 months you remove the box from the plant and you can re-use it again.
The Growboxx® plant cocoon is made from
recycled paper and can be used one time only. You can plant a tree in
combination with 4 vegetables, shrubs or flowers. The vegetables, shrubs
or flowers will grow hydroponically in the water of the box. This makes
the Growboxx® plant cocoon suitable for multiple purposes. A farmer can
use the Growboxx® to plant a fruit tree in combination with vegetables.
The vegetables will give the farmer an income during the first planting
year, and the fruit tree will give the farmer an income during the
years that will follow. Governments, companies or other parties can use
the Growboxx® for reforestation projects, greening up cities or
ecosystem restoration projects. They can plant a native tree in
combination with bushes or flowers.
The Groasis Ecological Water Saving
Technology is a copy if how Mother Nature plants. The survival rate is
on average in excess of 90% no matter how difficult the circumstances
are. Other planting methods limit planting to take place only in certain
seasons. The Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology enables one to
plant during 12 months per year, independent from the season and no
matter the temperature. This allows a planter to plan and industrialize

The reason of the success of the Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology
In most locations ground water can be found at a depth of 3 or more meters.
The problem for a plant in dry and eroded areas is that the first 3
meters of top soil, are dry. The air temperature is also high and
frequently there are strong winds. After planting in these dry areas,
the plant often has not got enough time to extend put its roots deep
enough to find the ground water. The plant subsequently dries out and
dies. The Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology helps the plant to
grow its roots 3 or more meters deep in the first year. Once the plant
reaches this depth, it is able to grow independently and will not die
anymore. After that year, you can remove the Groasis Waterboxx® plant
cocoon and plant the next tree with it. If you used the Growboxx® plant
cocoon, nature will degrade the box. This is an incredible cheap method
to plant.

Planting trees in a cheap way
Planting trees with drip irrigation is
extremely expensive. Once you use drip irrigation, you have eternal
costs for energy and maintenance. You must replace your pumps and tubes
every 5 years. Besides that, water is scarce and we better use it as
drinking water. The Groasis Ecological Water Saving Technology uses no
pumps, tubes or energy, and very little water. Only in the first year
you have some low costs. After one year, you never have costs anymore.
Mother Nature has always been able to grow without irrigation. The
