UK Breaks with Obama on Muslim Terror Threat

All political parties must in words and deeds eschew violence. Anything else is fascism or some such totalitarian ideology grasping to seize power by any means possible.  Inevitably it attracts like and the leadership soon beats others into submission.

Every such organization funnels the violence into a  front organization in order to keep their political skirts clean.  It is their silence and lack of action to prevent such activity that confirms their intent.

The Egyptian military is not stupid either.  They let them hang themselves before they rounded up the activists once again and effectively banned the party.

Egypt perhaps now has a chance to properly evolve sectarian political parties who produce real public support.  That would be welcome.

Breaking with the Obama administration over the global threat posed by the Muslim Brotherhood, British Prime Minister released an unequivocal statement on the organization that has been linked to violence in Egypt and elsewhere in the Muslim world. It was the Muslim Brotherhood that brought down the government of U.S. client, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. After a brief time in government as it steadily veered away from Egypt’s former position of cooperation with the U.S., the Egyptian military brought down the Muslim Brotherhood government under President Mohammed Morsi. It is considered a terrorist organization, not only by Egypt, but also by the governments of Bahrain, Russia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and erstwhile ally Saudi Arabia.

In his statement, Cameron said "Aspects of the Muslim Brotherhood's ideology and activities … run counter to British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, equality and the mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs." He added, that any "association with, or influence by the Muslim Brotherhood should be considered as a possible indicator of extremism."

The statement followed an 18-month-long exhaustive investigation by experts. Cameron’s statement shows that the United Kingdom’s relations with Egypt are getting closer. The British position is in contrast to the stance taken by the Obama administration. While seeking to strengthen American ties to the terrorist organization, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper once described the Muslim Brotherhood as a "largely secular” organization that has “eschewed violence." However, it was the Muslim Brotherhood that has been tied to numerous attacks on Christians, including a fatal bombing of a Coptic Christian Orthodox Church on New Year’s Eve three years ago.

The Obama administration has expressed displeasure about the report. The Obama administration is claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood is committed to nonviolence, and that interfering with it would only radicalize its members. [ they actually said this.  They must think everyone is stupid - arclein ]

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 by former schoolteacher Hassan al-Banna. The British report stated that as of then, the group "accepted the political utility of violence, and the Brotherhood conducted attacks, including political assassinations and attempted assassinations against Egypt state targets and both British and Jewish interests during his lifetime." Subsequent ideologues of the organization have advocated brutality and skillful tactics in order to impose an authoritarian Muslim regime in Egypt and elsewhere.

The Obama administration takes a neutral stance toward the Muslim organization. In January 2015, for instance, State Department diplomats met with members of the Egyptian Freedom and Justice Party that was established by the Muslim Brotherhood. In a 2011 interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, President Barack Obama was asked with the Muslim Brotherhood is a threat to national security. Obama answered, that the group is "well organized and there are strains of their ideology that are anti-U.S.” However, he would not name them a threat. Hillary Clinton as secretary of state in 2011, said “the jury is out” as to the threat posed by the organization.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is trying to force the Obama administration’s hand to label the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.

Along with Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill in November that calls on Obama to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. Called the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act, Cruz said upon introducing the bill that it comes after more evidence suggesting the group supports terrorism has emerged. Fellow Republican presidential candidate, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced similar legislation in 2013.
