This is the ultimate irony. It turns out that staying at home is safer than not. Of course we knew that. In the meantime it does appear that all this social distancing is allowing the infection to run its course without running up huge numbers.
There are hot spots in which quarantining is necessary. Again the testing is picking up those already infected long past. The separation actually stopped the expansion generally. Thus we have a real flattening in Italy already and can expect this everywhere.
The real take home is that social distancing is really working and the over all community is also becoming more immune as well. Redtoration of sertvfices will then steadily spread that immunity allowing the virus to die out.
