I find this article reassuring as it is clear that the monarchs are hugely adaptable. Better yet folks are paying attention now to protecting and increasing milk weed plantings. In fact we also need to support a commercial milkweed anyway as it is a huge source of unique fiber and a natural latex. It has been exploited in the past and needs to be encouraged.
Such a program will then provide ample habitat for the monarchs.
In the meantime it remains clear that Monsanto or not, they are not going to go extinct.
