The Two Contending Visions of World Government
There is only one vision of world governance however it is dressed up and it is top to bottom hierarchical and that has been its failing. Democratic elections do temper the system but it fails to temper any hierarchical construct at falls outside all that. The tempering process of the demos itself also comes up short and is often corrupted by money. It just happens to be the best that we have pulled off so far.
Fortunately the enthusiastic hanging of various elites over the past two centuries has normally made even elites appreciative. As posted in the past, the USA is seriously due for a hanging party, considering just how egregious elite behavior has become.
There is an alternative, it is global and it ends all forms of poverty and provides a rising economic floor that empowers our wildest human dreams and talents while making war completely irrelevant. It relys on a fundamental understanding of economics that has never been correctly constructed. Yet it also represents change and no one will accept it easily, although the first tests are out there.
