Of course, i know that grid fusion energy will be obsolete before it is successfully put in place. However we have here a completely new architecture that is compelling and should work. After over fifty years of watching Rube Goldberg hard at work, this is very welcome. Other designs fall apart exponentially and this appears to avoid that trap. At least we can hope.
This architecture allows it to be 10 times smaller at the same power output of something like the
ITER, which is expected to generate 500 MW in the 2020s. This is crucial for the use of fusion in all kind of applications, not only in giant, expensive power plants.
